About the NDIS

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a new way to receive support and services for people with a disability and psycho-social disability. The major reform is run by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA). It offers individualised and itemised funding for people with disabilities and mental health concerns based on their specific needs and goals.

LCS charge at the price limit in the NDIS Support Catalogue for all supports.

To qualify for a support package with the NDIS, the following requirements need to be met:

  • You need to have a permanent disability which significantly affects your ability to take part in everyday activities.
  • You need to be aged under 65 when you first access the scheme.
  • You need to be an Australian citizen, live in Australia and hold a permanent visa or hold a Protected Special Category Visa.

You can use this NDIS Access Checklist  if you would like to find out if you potentially qualify for the scheme.
